DULUTH, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team suffered its third straight one-goal loss on Saturday, dropping a 1-0 road decision to Minnesota Duluth.
SMSU is now 3-3 overall, 1-3 NSIC, while UMD improves to 2-4 overall, 1-3 NSIC. It's the first time this season SMSU has been shutout.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half, before the Bulldogs scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute by Jennifer Smith.
SMSU finished the game with 10 shots, including four on goal.
Kendahl Fisher had two of the shots on goal with
Kylee Nolan and
Autumn Hayes each collecting one shot.
Sonya Smith had four saves for SMSU in goal.
SMSU concludes its four-game road trip tomorrow at St. Cloud State starting at 1 p.m.
