ST. PAUL, Minn. – The No. 25-ranked Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three in a row on Saturday with a 3-0 road victory over Concordia-St. Paul.
SMSU improves to 14-1 overall and remains in sole possession of second place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with an 11-1 mark. The Mustangs concludes their four-game road trip tomorrow taking on No. 2-ranked and NSIC-leading Minnesota State at 1 p.m.
SMSU jumped on CU early on Saturday with
Miranda Cadena scoring her team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 13th minute off an assist from
Kendahl Fisher to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later SMSU added to the lead as
Vanesa Corona scored off a pass from Fisher to make the score 2-0. Fisher now has 11 assists on the season setting a new school single-season record.
The Mustangs closed the scoring in the 84th minute as
Justine Hauck registered her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Cadena to push the final margin to 3-0.
SMSU finished the game with 19 shots, including 13 on goal. Cadena led the Mustangs with four shots on goal, while
Naomi Peterson and Corona each added two shots on goal.

Brienna Dehkes made one save and recorded her seventh shutout of the season.
