The No. 19 Southwest Minnesota State University soccer team will the 2013 regular season home schedule this Thursday when the Mustangs will host Wayne State at The Schwan Regional Event Center in Marshall. SMSU lost 2-0 last season to the Wildcats to end the 2012 campaign on a 4-game losing streak.
OPPONENT AT A GLANCE
WAYNE STATE -- The Wildcats are 1-14-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the NSIC this season under first-year head coach Tom Cliff. The Wildcats enter Thursday on a 10-game winless streak dating back to Sept. 22. WSC has been shutout the last four games dating back to Oct. 18, having been outscored 15-0 in that span. The Wildcats are led by Macy Hagen who has recorded eight points on the season (3g, 2a). Goalkeeper Kylie Comba has started all 16 games for the Wildcats and has amassed 125 saves in 1,470 minutes, which ranks her second in the NSIC and 17th in the NCAA.

NSIC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Brienna Dehkes has been named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for her performance this weekend versus Concordia-St. Paul and No. 2 Minnesota State. It is the second time this season that Dehkes has been named NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week. She earned the honor earlier this season on Sept. 23. It marks the fifth time and fourth different player to earn NSIC Player of the Week honors this season.
Dehkes, a native of Elk River, Minn., Dehkes recorded her NSIC leading seventh and eighth shutouts of the season as the true freshman blanked Concordia-St. Paul and No. 2 Minnesota State, which carried the NCAA's ninth most potent scoring offense going into the weekend. On Sunday, Dehkes was pitted against Minnesota State, a team that was coming off a game in which it scored seven goals versus Sioux Falls, and made 12 saves on 25 shots faced while not allowing a goal. Dehkes lowered her season goal allowed average to 0.58 with the shutouts. Dehkes is now 13-1-1in the net for the Mustangs this season. Dehkes recorded a career-high 12 saves on Sunday versus MSU and finished the weekend with 13 total saves in 200 minutes.
Bemidji State's Mary O'Brien was named Offensive Player of the Week and Winona State's Madalyn Jansen earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
CADENA'S CLIMBÂÂ
Miranda Cadena scored her 17th career goal versus Concordia-St. Paul to put her in a tie for ninth place for most goals scored in SMSU history. Joelle Dean holds the record with 28 goals scored in a career. With 17 in just two seasons, the sophomore forward is on pace to eclipse the all-time record.
UNSEL-FISHER
Kendahl Fisher recorded her tenth and eleventh assists of the season on Oct. 26 versus Concordia-St. Paul to set the new SMSU single-season assist record. She has two Âregular season games left on the schedule to push for the NSIC record of an assist per game average of 1.22 set by Stacey Jacobs of Winona State in 2001 . Fisher ranks third on the SMSU all-time assist list with 16. Nadia Abuayed owns the all-time record with 25 set from 2001-04.
