BOX SCORE

CROOKSTON, Minn. -
The No. 18 Southwest Minnesota State University soccer team recorded its tenth win of the season when the Mustangs defeated Minnesota Crookston 3-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Sunday. It is only the second time in program history that SMSU has recorded a 10-win season. The win also clinches SMSU' first winning-season record since 1999 and only the second in program history.

Autumn Hayes got the scoring underway for the Mustangs in the 17th minute with Miranda Cadena assisting on the goal. Less than two minutes later, Cadena assisted on SMSU's second goal of the game as this time she found Kendahl Fisher who put it home for her third goal of the season. SMSU took its 2-0 lead into the half.

In the second half, SMSU would get on the board again as Autumn Hayes scored on a penalty kick -- marking her second two-goal performance of the season. The penalty kick goal was Hayes' fifth of her career and sets the mark for most in school history.

Goalkeeper Brienna Dehkes and the Mustang defense held the Golden Eagles in check as Dehkes made three saves on seven shots faced. The win gave Dehkes her tenth of the season and ties her for the most wins by a goalkeeper in a single season in program history. The shutout was her sixth of the season which breaks Sonya Smith's previous mark of five shutouts for the most shutouts in a single season in program history.

The Mustangs have now scored 10 goals in the last three games and have outscored the opponent 25-6 on the year.

SMSU (10-0, 7-0 NSIC) will look to tie the program's highest win total in a single season (11) when the Mustangs return home for NSIC games versus Upper Iowa and Winona State this weekend at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
