DENVER, Colo. - No. 14 Southwest Minnesota State was swept by No. 1 University of Tampa (12-25, 24-26, 15-25) at the 2013 Colorado Premier Challange on Saturday morning but rebounded later in the day with a 3-1 match victory over No. 11 Angelo State (21-25, 28-26, 25-16, 25-22) to take third place in the tournament.

Both Abbey Thissen and Emilee Gutzmer were named to the all-tournament team.

SMSU (5-3) will open up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Thursday, Sept. 19, when the Mustangs travel to Sioux Falls to take on Augustana.
