FIRST SERVE: The No. 5 Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action as it returns from a perfect five-game road trip. SMSU will look to continue success after defeating Upper Iowa and Winona State this past weekend. The Mustangs will play No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul Friday in the PE Gym at 7 p.m. before hosting Minnesota State on Saturday at 3 p.m. 

RED OUT: The Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team has teamed up with the Minnesota Army National Guard for the fourth annual "Red Out" event to benefit and promote awareness for heart disease among women. The Mustangs will hold the "Red Out" this Friday night, hosting nationally ranked Concordia-St. Paul in the PE Gym starting at 7 p.m.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Whitney Burmeister was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week for her performances during the Oct. 12-19 matches. Burmeister was named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week as she led the NSIC in digs, racking up a total of 72 digs for a 6.5 dig-per-set average and also helped the Mustangs earn a perfect 3-0 record on the road.
