DENVER – Southwest Minnesota State moved its winning streak to four straight with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 victory over Metro State (Colo.) on Friday at the Colorado Premier Challenge on the campus of Metro State.
Abbey Thissen led SMSU (4-2) with 11 kills,
Brooke Borchardt added six kills and finished with a .545 hitting percentage, while
Whitney Burmeister added nine kills and seven digs.
The tightly-contested match featured 33 ties and 12 lead changes.
SMSU finished the match hitting .270 with five blocks, while MSU (4-1) hit .228.
Southwest Minnesota State continues action tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. CDT taking on Colorado Mesa, before closing out the two-day event at 3:30 p.m. CDT versus Regis University (Colo.). Both matches will take place at Regis University in Denver.
