MINOT, N.D. — Lizzy Bruder's solo goal wasn't enough for Southwest Minnesota State as it suffered a 2-1 loss from Minot State at Herb Parker Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Lizzy Bruder scored her first goal of the season from an assist by
Kendahl Fisher in the first half to put the Mustangs ahead 1-0 going into the break.
Minot State took control in the second half scoring a pair of goals in the 50th minute and in the 63rd minute by Kristin Long and Breanne Hatfield to take the lead and win.
Alex Pantze and
Kylie Redmond fired four shots apiece in the match while
Miranda Cadena contributed a pair of shots.
Minot State had 12 shots in the game including nine on goal. SMSU fired 15 shots in the match, seven being on goal.
Southwest Minnesota State (3-4, 2-2 NSIC) will continue their road trip, as they will travel to Bismarck, N.D., Sunday to play University of Mary. Kick off set to be a 1 p.m.
