MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State Athletic Department will host the 11th annual "Celebration of Excellence" on Tuesday, April 26, beginning at 6 p.m. in the upper level of the SMSU Conference Center.
 
The program had previously been held during homecoming weekend the past 10 years, but is moving back to a late spring event.
 
The program will honor student-athletes and teams from the 2015-16 academic year. Student-athletes that earned All-NSIC accolades, Academic All-NSIC honors, national qualifiers, all-region honorees, seniors, Myles Brand Award honorees and team MVPs will be honored. The 2015-16 Female and Male Athletes of the Year will be announced, as well the 2015-16 Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
 
The event, which is free and open to the public, includes snacks and beverages. The social begins at 6 p.m., followed by the ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m.
