MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State soccer team dropped its final non-conference game of the year losing 2-0 to the fourth ranked Central Missouri Jennies.
The Mustangs came out with a fast pace taking 4 of the first 5 shots in the match but UCM ended the first half with a 3-0 advantage in shots on goal. Central Missouri kept pressure on the SMSU defense but the Mustangs' back line was able to hold UCM out of the net in the first 45 minutes.

The second half was also tightly contested before SMSU finally allowed UCM to strike in the 76
th minute. A ball from Kayla Hamner snuck in behind the back line to find senior forward, Hannah Pyle, who cleaned up for her first goal of the year.
UCM doubled their lead in the 83
rd minute with a goal from Mikala, Modiri that just snuck past the hands of goalkeeper,
Jessica Craigmile.
Southwest Minnesota State will head to Sioux Falls for its first NSIC match of the season on Friday at 6 p.m.
