MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team hosts Northern State (3-2-1 overall, 1-1-1 NSIC) on Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Schwan Regional Event Center for its home opener and then takes on MSU Moorhead (1-4 overall, 1-2 NSIC) on Sunday at 1 p.m. to conclude the home opening weekend.
SMSU is coming off a 4-3 overtime victory at Wayne State on Sunday. SMSU battled back after a 3-0 deficit when WSC scored three goals in the first half. SMSU then went for four unanswered goals to a 4-3 victory.

Northern State - Head Coach Steve Kehm has a 190-162-27 in his 20 seasons with the Wolves. Darian Lewschewski leads the Wolves with three goals scored, seven points, and 17 shots this season. Stephany Estrada also adds two goals, followed by Tori Collesso and Shianne Rosselli with one each. Jessica Otto leads the goalkeepers with 32 of the teams' 40 saves. The Wolves are ranked eighth in the NSIC after falling 3-0 to Minot State in their latest match last weekend.

The Mustangs lead the series 13-11-2, in a series dating back to Sept. 4, 1997. The teams have gone into overtime five times throughout the series. SMSU lost 2-1 in the last meeting at home.
