Mustangs prepare for road series at UMary and Minot State this weekend

THIS WEEK 
•The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (6-4, 4-4 NSIC) finishes off a four-game road series at UMary on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 20, at 12 p.m. 
•SMSU is coming off a tough weekend facing two top-teams in the conference. 
•SMSU dropped a 5-1 game to Minnesota State on Friday night and a 1-0 loss in overtime to Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday. 

SMSU Notes
•In the 2019 season, SMSU has the most conference wins since the 2013 season.
Alli Miskowiec tied Alex Lotts as team leader in goals scored with the lone Mustang goal this weekend. 
•Lotts and Miskowiec both lead with four goals, followed by Abbey Hoisington and Erin Fisher with three.

•UMary holds a 13-4 advantage in the all-time series versus SMSU dating back to 1997.

•Hannah Richter leads the Marauders in scoring with four goals on the season, followed behind by Noelle Vigneri with three. 
•Madisyn Waltman is the sole goalkeeper with a 3-2-2 record and 41 saves. 
•The 2018 squad made a run in the NSIC semifinals, falling 3-1 to Minot.

Series History
•Minot State has a 7-2 advantage over SMSU in the all-time series dating back to Sept. 15, 2010, which SMSU opened the series up with a 2-1 victory in overtime. 
•SMSU has in a five-game losing streak, beginning on Sept. 27, 2014, which MISU claimed a 2-1 victory in Minot. 
•SMSU's last victory was a 4-0 shutout in Marshall on Sept. 21, 2013. 

Minot State Notes
•Head coach, Chris Clements, is in his sixth season as the second head coach in program history.
•Daniela Fonseca leads the Beavers in scoring with two goals scored this season. Three Beavers have recorded one goal. 
•Sofia Lewis leads the team in shots with 26, 14 of them on goal. 
•Erin Rafferty is the primary goalkeeper for MISU with a 1-6 record. Rafferty has 55 saves off 114 shots faced, and 18 goals allowed. 

Between the Posts
•SMSU's true freshman, Amanda Haimes, holds a 6-4 record this season with four shutout victories. Haimes has 44 saves on the season, with a season-high eight saves in the 1-0 loss in OT to CSP.
