SMSU travels to Winona State on Friday for a split weekend, hosting Upper Iowa on Sunday

MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (8-6, 8-6 NSIC) prepares for a split weekend with a 6 p.m. game at Winona State (7-8, 6-6 NSIC) on Friday, Nov. 1, before returning home for a 1 p.m. game hosting Upper Iowa (3-8-4, 3-8-3 NSIC) on Sunday, Nov. 3, for senior day.
•SMSU snapped a five-game losing streak on Friday with a thrilling 3-2 victory in double overtime, led by a hat-trick from Alli Miskowiec, the second in her career. 
•Miskowiec was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.
•SMSU then defeated St. Cloud State 2-1 on Sunday to cap off a 2-0 weekend.  
•SMSU is tied with Winona State in the eight spot in the NSIC.
Alli Miskowiec leads the team in scoring with eight goals, 21 points, 48 shots with 28 of them on goal. 
Abbey Hoisington leads the team in assists with seven.

•SMSU enters the weekend, looking to pick up the first win ever in the all-time record.

Winona State Notes
•Head coach, Matt Kellogg, is in his second season with a 15-16-1 overall record and 14-12-1 record in the NSIC. 
•Georgette Topalis leads the Warriors in scoring with seven goals on the season. Hinz also leads in points with 15.  Courtney Wiencek and Jaida Wiege have three goals, Ellie Wardell has two. Eight others have one goal each. 
•Yanel Ortiz is the sole goalkeeper with a 80 saves, 24 goals allowed and four shutouts. Ortiz was named NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week with 15 saves over the weekend.

•Haley Ramberg leads the Peacocks in scoring with three goals scored for 6 points off 15 shots.  Facienne Graham leads the Peacocks in shots with 41, 20 of them on goal, and has accounted for two goals.
•Natalie Rudrud is the primary goalkeeper for UIU with 21 goals allowed, 110 saves, and one shut-out.
