LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Southwest Minnesota State University volleyball team (16-10, 10-8 NSIC), moved to No. 17 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Division II weekly poll released on Monday afternoon.
 
SMSU is 16-10 overall and 10-8 in the conference after a 2-1 week, after opening the week to a three-set loss to No. 13 Wayne State on Tuesday. The Mustangs then went undefeated in a weekend road series with a five-set victory over No. 7 Northern State and a sweep over MSU Moorhead on Saturday. 
 
SMSU has been ranked in the Top 25 for 186 consecutive polls, dating back to Sept. 5, 2006.
 
SMSU is one of eight NSIC schools ranked in this week's Top 25 with Minnesota Duluth leading the way at No. 5. Followed by Concordia-St. Paul at No. 6, Northern State at No. 7, St. Cloud State at No. 9, Wayne State at No. 13, Winona State at No. 16, SMSU at No. 17, and Upper Iowa at No. 21. 

Southwest Minnesota State (16-10, 10-8 NSIC) will host UMary (1-26, 0-18 NSIC) on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. and Minot State (3-24, 2-16 NSIC) on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., to finish out the regular conference season.
