ST. JOSEPH, Minn.– The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team fell 2-1 to the College of St. Ben's in an exhibition match on Sunday afternoon at CSB Soccer Field.
St. Ben's scored both goals in the first 10 minutes of the first half. It wasn't until 62 minutes into the second half that SMSU's
Jessica Jugovich connected on a goal assisted by
Olivia Harriger, to put the Mustangs on the board.
St. Ben's out-shot SMSU nine to six while both teams recorded three saves each.
Southwest Minnesota State opens the season hosting Black Hills State (S.D.) on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Schwan Regional Event Center. SMSU will open conference play on Sept. 20 hosting Augustana at 6 p.m. also at the Schwan Regional Event Center.
