MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (1-0) travels to William Jewell (Mo.) (0-1-1) on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Greene Stadium in Liberty, Mo.
SMSU Notes
•The Mustangs opened the regular season at home with a 2-1 victory over Black Hills State on Sunday.
•BHSU scored the first goal of the game in the 31st minute and would lead until the Mustangs would score goals in back-to-back minutes for the comeback victory.

Jessica Jugovich scored her first collegiate goal and SMSU's first goal of the season in the 78th minute, assisted by
Lexi Smith.
•
Erin Fisher then scored just a minute later, assisted by
Olivia Harriger, in the 79th minute.

•Head coach, Jefferson Roblee, has a career record 62-16-16 overall and 46-58-12 in the conference.
•Jewell opened the season with a 1-1 draw at Upper Iowa on Sunday and fell 3-0 at Washburn on Tuesday night.
•Katie Pohl scored the first goal of the season for Jewell in the 19th minute versus UIU. UIU tied the game with eight minutes of regulation which extendedd into two overtime periods. Jewell outshot the Peacocks 23-19.
•In the loss to Washburn, the Ichabods scored all three goals in a nine-minute span.
2019 Season Outlook
•The 2019 season opened with the first victory at home since the 2017 season.
•Mustangs kicked off a nine-game season homestand with a 2-1 victory over Black Hills State.
•Sunday's victory was the first win at home since Minnesota Crookston, Oct. 21, 2017.
•SMSU had 13 shots, seven on them on goal while BHSU had four shots with two of them on goal.
New Faces
•SMSU's had six true freshman make their collegiate debut on the season opener.

Alex Lotts both made their starting debut.

Between the Posts
•SMSU's true freshman,
Amanda Haimes, made her collegiate debut on the season opener for the Mustangs.
•Haimes played all 90 minutes and picked up the victory.
