BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 11 Bemidji State to open their road weekend on Friday night.
BSU (12-0-2, 9-0-2 NSIC) out-shot SMSU (3-9-1, 2-8-1 NSIC), 23-7 with 10 on net compared to the SMSU four. SMSU would hold BSU to a 1-0 lead into the second half, but BSU would score two goals in 12 seconds and another goal in the 58
th minute to defeat the Mustangs
Sara Wendt scored her 15
th goal of the season to lead the Beavers, as BSU would score four goals from four different players.
Kirsten Wetterstrom recorded three shots while putting a shot on goal for SMSU.
Meghan Harkin would recorded a save and give up a goal in the first half before
Julianne Arballo subbed in to start the second half. Arballo recorded five saves while giving up three goals.
Southwest Minnesota State heads to Crookston for a Sunday afternoon matchup against Minnesota Crookston. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
