MARSHALL, Minn. – Bemidji State, the defending NSIC champions, scored a pair of first half goals before adding another goal in the second half, to earn a 3-0 victory over Southwest Minnesota State in NSIC women's soccer on Friday at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
BSU improves to 8-2-4 overall, 7-1-3 NSIC, while SMSU drops to 1-6-7 overall, 1-6-4 in league play.
The Beavers opened the scoring in the 18
th minute on a goal from Allyson Smith off a long pass from goalkeeper Alyssa Stumbaugh.
Smith added her second goal of the game in the 27
th minute with an assist to Maggie Cade to help BSU build a 2-0 halftime advantage.
Maria Stocke scored the game's final goal in the 68
th minute.
BSU closed the game recording 13 shots, including nine on goal. SMSU finished with 12 shots with six on net.

Selena Prolic each had two shots on goal for the Mustangs with teammates
Emma Dahnert and
Brooke Wetterstrom each adding one shot on goal.
Rachel Hicks had six save for the Mustangs.
SMSU continues home play on Sunday facing Minnesota Crookston for Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m.
