MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team will compete at home for the first time during the 2022-23 regular season on Thursday hosting Minnesota State University in a dual meet beginning at 6 p.m. inside the Don Palm Natatorium on the campus of SMSU.
Thursday's meet is scheduled to have 14 races along with 1-meter and 3-meter diving.
SMSU, which is 6-2 on the season, last competed on Saturday at the Concordia-St. Paul Tri Meet along with Minnesota State. SMSU defeated CSP, 146-110, but lost to MSU, 201-72.
In Saturday's CSP meet,
Grace Busch earned SMSU's lone first place finish as she won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:20.13. Busch also was second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:31.70.
Olivia Sholl finished in second place in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:34.19 and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:10.17.
The Mustangs' 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Juliana Villa, Busch,
MacKenzie Kallevig and
Maija Geier recorded a second-place time at 3:42.64.
Kallevig finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:21.49 and closed at 25.85 in the 50-yard freestyle to earn fourth place.
SMSU is 0-5 all-time in dual meets versus MSU.
