The Marauders would be in control for nearly the entire third set, holding leads of 10-3, 14-6, and 22-15, but the Mustangs would battle, scoring 10 of 12 points to take a 25-24 advantage into a set point. UMary would score the next two points and have set point serves at 26-25, 27-26, 28-27, and 29-28, but the Mustangs closed the match with the final three points, including a kill and an ace from Schmidt.
