MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team returns to action on Friday competing in a dual meet at MSU Moorhead starting at 4 p.m.
SMSU, 6-3 on the season, last competed on Oct. 27, losing to Minnesota State in a dual at the Don Palm Natatorium in Marshall.
Mustang sophomore
Grace Busch earned a first-place time in the 500-yard freestyle with senior
MacKenzie Kallevig finishing second. Sophomore
Maija Geier won both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle to lead the Mustangs.
Grace also picked up a fourth-place time of 11:30.47 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while Kallevig recorded a time of 2:02.18 to place second in the 200-yard freestyle.
SMSU's 200-yard medley relay of
Natalie Bohnert, Olivia Sholl,
Heather Arlen and Geier had a strong race finishing second with a time of 1:54.89, while the 200-yard freestyle relay of Kallevig, Busch,
Addi Schroeder and Geier also earned a second-place time of 1:41.30.
MSU Moorhead is 0-8 in dual meets this season.
SMSU is 1-2 all-time in dual meets versus MSU Moorhead earning its lone victory last season in Marshall by a score of 140-90.
