MARSHALL, Minn. – A total of five members of the Southwest Minnesota State University football team earned spots on the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-District team announced on Tuesday.
 
Named to the All-District team include senior Dylan Lauer, junior Bradley Gould, junior Dustin Pampel, sophomore Carter Dicker and sophomore Andrew Pelishek.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District® football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Lauer, an offensive lineman from Cloquet, Minn., started all 11 games this season and earned All-NSIC South first team honors. A graduate of SMSU with a degree in political science and currently pursuing his MBA at SMSU, Lauer started all 22 games of his career at SMSU.
 
Gould, an offensive lineman from Las Vegas, Nev., has been a three-year starter for the Mustangs and is a management major.
 
Pampel, a tight end from Johnson Creek, Wis., is a five-year member of the Mustangs and is a graduate with a degree in business and is currently pursuing his MBA at SMSU.
 
Dicker, a kicker/punter and business major from Gilbert, Ariz., has averaged 38.7 yards per punt in 101 attempts, has connected on eight field goals and has made 44 PATs in his two-year career.
 
Pelishek, a management and marketing major from De Pere, Wis., has been a four-year member of the team and played special teams during the 2022 season.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
