MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming & diving team celebrated its Senior Day on Saturday with wins in each of their duals today at the SMSU triangular. The Mustangs defeated Minnesota-Morris, 180-43 and Northern State, 121-101.
Senior
Natalie Bohnert claimed the first victory of the day for the Mustangs with a time of 11:15.34 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Bohnert would then go on to win the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:00.24.
Maija Geier saw success in the 50-yard freestyle as she paced the field with a final time of 24.86. Geier also placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.34.
Jessa Polchow made her debut for the Mustangs with a second-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley completing the race in 4:57.17.
The final victory for the Mustangs came in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the team of
MacKenzie Kallevig,
Addi Schroeder, Bohnert and Geier finished the race in 1:42.36.
The Mustangs will return to action to compete at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in West Fargo, N.D., on Feb. 8-11.
