DULUTH, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (3-9-1, 3-6-1 NSIC) lost to the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (5-5-5, 4-3-4 NSIC) on Friday evening by a score of 2-1.
The Bulldogs played a strong first half, with Jacqueline Jares scoring in the 24th minute to put the Bulldogs on the board, with Jones scoring again in the 31st minute to put the Bulldogs up 2-0.
Selena Prolic scored for the Mustangs. The goal came on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute for Prolic, the goal was Prolic's second penalty kick goal of the season and her third goal overall.
Rachel Hicks started in net for the Mustangs, registering 7 saves in the losing effort.
The Mustangs will return to action on Sunday, when they travel to St. Cloud to take on the St. Cloud State Huskies, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
