SMSU swimming & diving hosts MSU Moorhead on Friday

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team is back in action on Friday hosting MSU Moorhead for a dual meet starting at 1 p.m. inside the Don Palm Natatorium.  
 
MSU Moorhead is 5-4 in dual meets this season and last competed this past Saturday earning a 163-128 victory over Concordia-St. Paul.
 
SMSU is 2-2 all-time versus MSUM in duals, including earning a 158-66 victory last season in Moorhead.
 
SMSU is coming off an impressive two meets last Friday and Saturday which featured Minnesota Morris, Concordia (Moorhead) and Iowa Lakes Community College.
 
The Mustangs captured first place finishes during Friday's meet and earned 12 more first place finishes during Saturday's meet.
 
During last Friday's Minnesota Morris Quad, Quincie Klein won the 1,000-yard freestyle with Ashlynn Dunlop finishing in second.
 
The 400-yard medley relay team of Natalie Bohnert, Shannon Bailey, Heather Arlen and Maija Geier earned first-place with a time of 4:12.73. The 400-yard freestyle team of Carla Nevi, Ellie Wilber, Maddy Storm and Klein secured a first-place time at 3:48.50.
 
Carla Nevi and Ellie Wilber finished first and second respectively in the 200-yard freestyle, while Nevi also won the 500-yard freestyle at 5:24.45 with Wilber placing second at 5:35.13.
 
Geier earned first place finishes in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, while Bohnert captured first place in the 50-yard backstroke.
 
Maddy Storm recorded a first-place time in the 50-yard breaststroke with Rebeca Temotio right behind in second place and Ella Swanson finishing third at 33.77.
 
Storm would finish in first place in the 200-yard IM.
 
In last Saturday's home double-dual, Nevi won the 1000-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard IM.
 
Klein won the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with Geier winning the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.
 
Storm took home first place in the 100-yard butterfly with Wilber picking up first place in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
SMSU won the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
