MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's soccer team opened its regular season on Friday afternoon suffering a 2-1 loss to Morningside at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
SMSU jumped out to a first half lead behind a goal by junior midfielder
Alyson Gallagher, the first of her career with the Mustangs, assisted on by junior midfielder
Selena Prolic.
Morningside had second half goals by Keyera Harmon and Tuva Hammarlund.
SMSU will return to action this Sunday, when they host the Central Missouri Jennies at 9 a.m.
