•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's soccer team (1-5, 1-2 NSIC) returns home for the first time since Sept. 3 when it hosts a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games this Friday and Sunday at Mattke Field at The Schwan Regional Event Center.
•On Friday, SMSU will take on No. 23 Bemidji State University (5-0-2, 3-0 NSIC) with game time slated for 5 p.m. before closing the weekend on Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. match-up versus the University of Minnesota Crookston (0-7, 0-3 NSIC).

•SMSU and BSU meet for the 28
th time on Friday night with BSU holding a slight 12-11-4 advantange in a series that started in 1996.
•SMSU won the first nine games in the series but BSU is 12-2-4 since the 2005 season.
•BSU has won the last seven games with SMSU's last win coming during the 2013 season.
•BSU defeated SMSU 3-0 last season in Marshall.

HEAD COACH CLAY GLASGOW
•
Clay Glasgow is in his second season as head coach and has a record of 4-13-7 overall, including 4-10-4 in NSIC play. He was hired as the sixth head coach in program history on Feb. 25, 2022.
•Glasgow came to SMSU after spending eight seasons (2014-21) as head women's soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.) recording a mark of 49-86-5.
•During his last two seasons at DWU, the Tigers amassed back-to-back winning seasons and qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament both seasons.

SMSU LAST WEEK
•SMSU split a pair of NSIC road games last weekend in North Dakota, defeating Minot State 2-0, before losing 1-0 to UMary.
•
Alyson Gallagher and
Emily Maciel scored for SMSU in helping the team earn its first win of the season.
Alyson Gallagher also had an assist in the victory.
•
Kenna Conley made five saves for the Mustangs in goal.
•In the setback to UMary, the Marauders scored in the 60
th minutes for the lone goal of the game.
•The Mustangs had three shots on goal, with
Haley Mason,
Audrey Gallagher and

SCOUTING BEMIDJI STATE
•The Beavers are 5-0-2 overall, 3-0 NSIC, and are currently tied for third place in the NSIC with nine points, one point behind Minnesota State and Northern State. Â
•BSU finished 16-3-6 last season and advanced to the NCAA national quarterfinals.
•Katrina Barthelt leads the team with five goals and 12 points with Maria Stocke adding three goals.
•Edie Frantzen has played every minute in goal and has allowed just two goals with five shutouts.

•SMSU is in its 28th season of soccer in 2023 and 27th season of competition (2020 was canceled).
•SMSU has compiled an all-time record of 158-291-36, including 113-165-23 in NSIC games.
•SMSU has made 14 NSIC tournaments and played in the region championship of the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
•SMSU has recorded four winning seasons in program history with the last coming in 2019.
