•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's soccer team (0-2) continues non-conference action on Friday night with a road match-up versus Washburn University (Kan.) (1-1) starting at 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium in Topeka, Kan.
•Following Friday's game, SMSU will open NSIC play on Sept. 17 at Wayne State College.
SMSU LAST WEEK
•SMSU opened the season last week with a pair of non-conference home losses.
•SMSU surrendered a pair of second half goals to lose 2-1 to Morningside (Iowa), before suffering a 3-0 setback to No. 13 ranked Central Missouri.

Alyson Gallagher scored the lone SMSU goal on the weekend off an assist from
Selena Prolic.

Rachel Hicks suffered the loss in goal to Morningside, while Keena Conly made seven saves in goal during the loss to UCM.
HEAD COACH CLAY GLASGOW
•
Clay Glasgow is in his second season as head coach and has a record of 3-10-7 overall, including 3-8-4 in NSIC play. He was hired as the sixth head coach in program history on Feb. 25, 2022.
•Glasgow came to SMSU after spending eight seasons (2014-21) as head women's soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.) recording a mark of 49-86-5.
•During his last two seasons at DWU, the Tigers amassed back-to-back winning seasons and qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament both seasons.
SERIES HISTORY
•SMSU and Washburn meet for the seventh time on Friday night with WU leading 4-1-1.
•The two teams last played on Aug. 30, 2018, with Washburn earning a 2-0 victory in Fayette, Iowa.
•SMSU is 0-2-1 all-time at WU, including suffering a 2-0 loss on Sept. 2, 2017.
•SMSU's lone victory in the series came on Sept. 3, 2016, in Marshall by a score of 1-0.
SCOUTING WASHBURN
•The Ichabods are 1-1 overall following a 2-0 win over Drury and a 3-1 loss to Missouri-St. Louis.
•Khloe Schuckman has two goals and an assist to pace Washburn this season.
