ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team closed out its dual season on Friday night earning a pair of victories at the Northern State University Triangular inside the Aberdeen YMCA. SMSU defeated Northern State, 118.5-95.5 and UMary, 127-90.
SMSU closed the night earning four first-place finishes and ends is dual season with a 9-5 record.
SMSU's 400-yard medley relay team of
Carla Nevi,
Maddy Storm,
Natalie Bohnert and
Maija Geier took home first place with a time of 4:04.87.
Geier secured a first-place time of 25.91 to win the 50-yard freestyle, while Bohnert won the 100-yard backstroke touching the wall at 59.53.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Storm,
Ellie Wilber, Bohnert and Nevi earned first-place with a time of 3:43.98.
Wilber finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11.21.72 with teammate
Quincie Klein earning second place in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:04.98.
Storm picked-up a second-place time of 2:19.13 in the 200-yard IM, with Nevi placing second in the 500-yard freestyle and
Shannon Bailey finishing second in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Aydrial Taylor scored 176.25 points to finish second in 1-meter diving.
SMSU concludes the regular season on Saturday competing at the Northern State Pentathlon inside the Aberdeen YMCA starting at 2 p.m.
