MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University's women's volleyball program will host the 13th annual "Red Out", presented by Avera, this Friday night against Winona State starting at 6 p.m. inside the PE Gym.
All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear red in support of awareness for heart disease. The first 600 fans through the gates will receive a free "Red Out" t-shirt.
"Red Out" began when former head coach Terry Culhane, who suffered a heart attack in 2010, felt that his experience offered a unique opportunity for his volleyball program to help educate the public about this deadly disease.
All donations during the match will be given to the Avera Heart Hospital.
Southwest Minnesota State, ranked No. 7 in this week's national Top 25 poll, is 17-1 overall, 8-1 NSIC. Following Friday's match, SMSU will host No. 12 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday for its "Summer Camper Day" with first serve at 4 p.m.
