ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team split a pair of duals at the Northern State Triangular inside the Aberdeen YMCA on Saturday.
SMSU defeated Northern State, 122-101, before suffering a 116-105 loss to UMary.
The SMSU 200-yard medley relay team of
Carla Nevi,
Maddy Storm,
Heather Arlen and
Maija Geier captured first place with a time of 1:52.04.
The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Geier,
Lexi Weems,
Maggie Johnson and Nevi finished with a first place time of 3:43.73.
Storm earned first place in the 200 yard IM touching the wall at 2:17.83 and also picked up a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:08.07. Geier also picked-up a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:01.02.
Aydrial Taylor scored 195.52 to finish second in 1-meter diving, while
Bre Sanneman closed in third place with 172.35.
SMSU returns to action in two weeks with the Brown & Gold intrasquad on Oct. 11 and will have an alumni meet on Oct. 12. The Mustangs' next collegiate competition will be Oct. 19 hosting Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul.
