MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming and diving team closed the regular season on Saturday morning with a 200-48 victory over Dordt University (Iowa) inside the Don Palm Natatorium.
The dual featured 26 events including three events in the men's division and events in 1-mtr and 3-mtr diving.
Maggie Johnson earned a pair of first place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (25.33) and in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of (56.40).
Olivia Johnson secured a pair of first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.77 and in the 500-yard freestyle (5:37.46).
Maija Geier swam for a time of 1:02.17 in the 100-yard IM to finish in first place and earned another first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.50).
Maddy Storm earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.33.
Carla Nevi secured a first-place finish with a time of 1:11.88 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the 200-yard medley relay, a team consisting of
Maggie Johnson,
Shannon Bailey,
Lauren Spencer, and
Maddy Storm earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:56.66.
A team composed of
Heather Arlen,
Elayna Geiser,
Megan Anspach,
Quincie Klein secured a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:57.74.
Today's dual was the final home dual for SMSU's seven seniors,
Megan Anspach,
Heather Arlen,
Kaelyn DeRoche,
Maija Geier,
Elayna Geiser, and
Quincie Klein.
SMSU will now turn its attention to the NSIC Championships on Feb. 12-15 in West Fargo, N.D.
