MARSHALL, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State University Director of Athletics Jennifer Flowers has been selected to serve on the NCAA Division II Management Council by the Division II Governance staff.
 
Flowers, who is currently in her third year at SMSU, begins her four-year term this month and will serve as an at-large representative. Her term on the Council will end in January of 2029.
 
"I am tremendously humbled to have been selected to serve on Management Council," Flowers said. "The work Management Council is doing, at this pivotal time in college athletics, will help direct our path for years to come. I am proud to represent SMSU on a national level and look forward to working alongside Division II leadership and the rest of the Council members."
 
The Management Council reports directly to the Presidents Council and is charged with recommending administrative policy and regulations that govern the division. The Management Council reviews and acts on recommendations from the Division II committee structure and from Division II representatives to committees with Association-wide functions.
 
The Council is comprised of 28 members, including one administrator or representative from each of the Division II multisport voting conferences; one administrator or representative of Division II independent institutions (provided there are at least eight Division II independent institutions); two representatives from the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee; and two "at-large" positions to help achieve diversity of representation.
