BROOKFIELD, Ill. – Southwest Minnesota State University sophomore safety
Parker Knutson was named to the 2025
Don Hansen Division II All-American honorable mention team on Thursday (Dec. 18).
The
Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published
Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
A 6-foot-1, 193-pound, native of Sartell, Minn, Knutson started all 11 games and finished the regular season leading Division II with eight interceptions and ranking 15th in passes defended (1.27). The eight interceptions tied a team single-season record, while his 13 career interceptions are tied for first in team history. He led SMSU with six pass break-ups and ranked seventh on the squad with 39 tackles.
Named All-NSIC South Division first team and CCA All-Super Region 3 second team in the past month, Knutson led the NSIC in interceptions (8) and tied for first with 14 passes defended.
