SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Southwest Minnesota State University softball team opened its weekend at the 2025 Mustang Invitational dropping both games of a doubleheader to Truman State (Mo.), 6-0 and 6-3, on Saturday night inside the ASB Sports Complex, in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Game One (6-0, TSU)

Karlie Miller (1-3) was dealt the loss in game one, surrendering 13 hits and six runs (three earned) while striking out four and walking one in a complete game. The Bulldogs' Kaylyn Jones (1-0) earned the victory in game one, giving up four hits while striking out three.

SMSU totaled five hits between four batters. Riley Kramolisch led the charge going 2 for four at the dish.

SMSU was unable to get the bats going and the Bulldogs would continue to extend their lead to 6-0 after five innings to close out game one.

Game Two (6-3, TSU)

The Mustangs would take the lead after a clutch triple by freshman Lexi Ingalls to plate two runners in the top of the fourth inning. TSU would respond with a pair of runs to tie the game 3-3.

The Bulldogs used a big sixth inning to lift past the Mustangs and to take game two 6-3.
