The Mustangs as a team hit .257 (49-14-136), while the Saints, led by Ella Brinkman with 15 kills, hit .117 (33-18-128).

The first set was a story of streaks, with Maryville getting out to an early 8-5 lead before SMSU went on a 7-1 run to lead the set 12-9. The Saints answered with their own 5-0 run, leading the match 14-12, when the Mustangs came alive again, going on a 9-3 run, and holding on to win the set 25-20.

SMSU started the second set on fire, getting a 13-4 lead at one point. Maryville went on an 8-2 run to make the set 15-12 in favor of the Mustangs, and the Saints continued to put on the pressure, getting to within one-point multiple times in the set. But a late Mustangs run sealed the second set, 25-21.

The third set was much more in favor for the Mustangs, and after gaining a 6-5 advantage, went on a 9-2 run, and their lead never looked in danger, as SMSU won the final set 25-15.
