MARSHALL, Minn. – With five wins on the day, including four by fall, the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs wrestling team completed the 2025-26 season Saturday, hosting the NCAA DII Super Regional V Championship.
 
The Mustangs finished 11^th in the tournament with 12 total points.
 
"What a day. For the first time in 18 years the NCAA Championships ran through Marshall! Today was truly a special day for our program, our fans, and this community," said fifth-year head coach Chayse Jackson. "We put 4 into the blood-rounds, found 4 falls, and competed in every match. Although not quite what we we wanted, I am proud to be a Mustang. #Letsride"
 
Bronson Richins began the day with a win at 141 lbs. over Minot State's Ethan Wonser, whom Richins lost to in the dual between the two earlier this season.
 
Jake Messner began a streak of four wins by fall in the span of seven bouts for the Mustangs by defeating Minot State's Guerrero Brayden in the first round.
 
Tate Condezo followed with a pin of his own of Minnesota State Moorhead's Jacob Thomas late in the third period, a bout he was winning 15-6.
 
DJ Rock pulled a rabbit out of a hat in his second bout of the day, defeating Payton Wayman of Minot State by fall, while trailing 6-1 in the dual.
 
Evan Thompson earned the final victory of the day for the Mustangs, defeating Upper Iowa's Hunter Bye by fall in the first period.
