MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team returns to action next week to open the 2026 spring season hosting three tournaments during its spring trip to Arizona.
SMSU will first compete serving as the host school for the 13-team, 36-hole SMSU Spring Invite on March 9-10 at the Wigwam Resort Red Course in Litchfield Park, with tee times both days beginning at 12 p.m. CDT. Schools competing include Adams State (Colo.), Bemidji State, Chadron State (Neb.), Colorado Mesa, Concordia-St. Paul, Ft. Lewis (Colo.), Lethbridge (Alberta), Minot State, Mesa Community College (Ariz.), MSU-Denver, Minnesota Crookston, and Western New Mexico.
On March 12-13, SMSU will host the 10-team, 36-hole, SMSU Challenge at Wigwam Resort Blue Course in Litchfield Park with tee times starting at 11:16 a.m. CDT on both days. Schools joining SMSU include, Augustana, Bemidji State, Chadron State (Neb.), Colorado Mesa, Fort Hays State (Kan.), MSU-Denver, Minnesota Crookston, MSU Moorhead and Rockhurst (Mo.).
SMSU will close out its trip on March 16-17 hosting the 36-hole SMSU Spring Classic at the Wigwam Resort Blue Course. Tee times are scheduled to begin both days at 11:16 a.m. CDT. A total of 10 teams will compete, including Black Hills State (S.D.), Fort Hays State (Kan.), Illinois Wesleyan, UMary, Minnesota State, Nebraska-Kearney, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Westmont (Calif.) and Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
SMSU last competed at the University of Sioux Falls Invite on Oct. 13-14, 2025, in Larchwood, Iowa.
