MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University football team will host an intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday, April 22, at Mattke Field at The Schwan Regional Event Center starting at 4 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. SMSU was scheduled to play an outside opponent on Wednesday, but the team could not attend.

The scrimmage will feature several offensive versus defensive team drills, including 7-on-7 passing, offensive lineman versus defensive lineman competition and situational drills before closing with a live scrimmage.

SMSU, which concludes spring practice on Thursday, will open the 2026 regular season hosting Valley City State (N.D.) on Thursday, Aug. 27.
