What does it mean to "Believe in Brown"?
Success by our Southwest Minnesota State University athletic teams can be attributed to several things. The most obvious being outstanding coaches and talented student-athletes for all 17 Mustang intercollegiate teams.
Another major player is the support from the Mustang Booster Club, the Athletic Corporate Partners Program and individuals. Funds from the Mustang Booster Club, Corporate Partners Program and individual gifts are used in athletic scholarships and budget support for all our Mustang teams. Thus, Mustang Booster Club and Corporate Partner members are providing both academic and athletic opportunities for student-athletes at SMSU.
In providing support, Mustang Booster Club Members provide student-athletes the opportunity to pursue their educational and athletic goals while representing our University and region. Members are also providing the resources needed for success at the NSIC and NCAA II level.
"Believe in Brown" is more than just a slogan supporting SMSU Athletics. It goes beyond the idea of cheering for the student-athletes and coaches of SMSU. When you Believe in Brown, you are truly embracing everything that is great about Mustang Athletics. Believe in Brown embraces four basic principles:
Excelling in the Classroom
Accepting Social Responsibility
Embracing Civic Engagement
Competing for Championships
