The sixth annual Southwest Minnesota State University Smokefest BBQ Contest will take place on Aug. 17-18, 2012, on the campus of SMSU in Marshall. The event once again this year wlll be in conjunction with the city of Marshall's "Sounds of Summer" celebration. Enjoy a great time with friends with excellent food, games and much!

Friday, Aug. 17
5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. • Beverage garden open
5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. • Smokefest Carnival (inflatable's, face painting, carnival games, balloon shapers and much more!)
5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. • Vending area open (authentic BBQ provided by Hv-Vee)
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. • Mustang Booster Club Kickoff Picnic
7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. • SMSU football scrimmage
9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. • Outdoor movie at the SMSU Regional Event Center "Hunger Games"
Saturday, Aug. 18
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • Beverage garden & vending area open
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • Smokefest Carnival (inflatable's, face painting, carnival games, balloon shapers and much more!)
11:00 a.m. • Smokefest Bean Bag Tournament registration
11:30 a.m. • Smokefest Bean Bag Tournament begins
12:00 p.m. • Smokefest judging begins
