Ag Bowl Scholarship FlierRegister HERE!The Ag Bowl Scholarship Invitational is a competition for FFA members to participate in a choice of 15 Career Development Events. They have the opportunity to compete individually and as a team. In today's society there are several opportunities for careers in the agriculture industry. Ralco Nutrition along with many other great sponsors is hoping to bring more awareness to high school students through this invitational, while giving them the opportunity to challenge themselves in several different CDE's. These CDE's include:
- Parliamentary Procedure
- Novice Parliamentary Procedure
- Job Interview
- Prepared Public Speaking
- Soils
- Crops
- Agriculture Communications
- Agriculture Issues
- Fish & Wildlife Management
- Creed Speaking
- Farm Business Management
- Extemporaneous Speaking
- Marketing Plan
- Best Informed Greenhand
- Small Animal
The day will start with registration in the R/A Facility on the Campus of SMSU at 7:30am. There will be a short introduction and then the competitions will begin. Throughout the day students will be able to speak with representatives from the different sponsors while they are not competing, these sponsors include: Ralco Nutrition, Channel, Syngenta, Titan Machinery, CHS, Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, Midwest Ag, ADM, & Minnesota Corn Growers Association.
All advisors will have the opportunity to tour Ralco Nutrition from 9am - 11am, transportation will be provided.
In the competition there will be several scholarship dollars rewarded to winners, along with money for chapters earning the most cumulative points. Agriculture Communications, Issues, Marketing, and Farm Business Management are all CDE's that will have larger award amounts.
These Individual CDE's will each have a 1
st place price of 1,000 scholarship dollars to SMSU including a medal and a 2
nd place prize of 500 scholarship dollars to SMSU:
- Soils
- Crops
- Agriculture Communications
- Agriculture Issues
- Farm Business Management
- Marketing Plan
The remaining CDE's will have a 1
st place prize of 500 scholarship dollars to SMSU and a 2
nd place prize of 250 scholarship dollars.
The Highest Chapter will receive $1,000 (cash).
*Participants must be in grades 8th-12th
