UCO-CSP Match Recap

MARSHALL, Minn. – Mariya Sampson recorded a team-high 14 kills and finished with a .394 hitting percentage to lead No. 2 seed Concordia-St. Paul to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 victory over No. 7 seed Central Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the PE Gym.
 
CSP, ranked No. 3 nationally, advances to Friday’s semifinal match at 5 p.m. The Golden Bears improve to 29-3 overall and are now 62-6 all-time in 15 NCAA tournament appearances.
 
UCO, ranked No. 15 nationally, closes the season with an overall record of 29-6.
 
Elizabeth Mohr dished out 35 assists for the Golden Bears to pace an offense that finished hitting .379 with 48 kills on 103 attempts. Hope Schiller and Brooklyn Lewis each added nine kills for CSP, while Schiller added 10 digs.
 
Taylor Bevis led UCO with 15 kills, while Dominique Lipari added a team-high 12 digs. The Bronchos finished the match hitting .238 with 39 kills on 101 attempts.
