2012: Played in all 11 games ... finished the season with nine tackles ... named SMSU special teams player of the week at Minnesota State, Mankato ... saw action on special teams and as fullback.

2011: Appeared in eight games on special teams.

2010: Sat out season as a redshirt ... named SMSU's scout team special teams player of the year.

High School: 2010 graduate of Harding High School ... played for Michael Huston ... named all-conference twice ... named all-state honorable mention in 2009 ... was the MVP of his team in 2009 ... also ran track and was on the swimming team.

Personal: Born July 28, 1992 ... son of Carolyn Burns ... exercise science and biology major.
