Devin Taverna is in his first season as an assistant coach in 2019 and will coach the team’s defensive backs.
Taverna was a two-year starter at defensive back at the University of South Dakota in 2012 and 2013. He finished second on the team in tackles in 2012 with 79, while leading the team in tackles with 78 in 2013. He recorded a combined six interceptions during his two seasons. Prior to USD, Taverna played two seasons at Palomar College (Calif.), where he tallied 145 tackles with five interceptions.
Taverna is a 2014 graduate of the University of South Dakota with a degree in criminal justice.
