Dominic Mirocke is in his second season as running backs coach at SMSU in 2011.
In 2010, SMSU's top two running backs, Warren Matthews and Gannon Moore, combined to rush for 943 yards and 10 touchdowns on 188 attempts (5.0 per carry).
A native of Lee's Summit, Mo., Mirocke comes to SMSU after spending six seasons as a player for Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. Following a redshirt and then a medical redshirt his first two seasons, Mirocke played four seasons at tight end for the Hornets appearing in 36 games with 17 career receptions and three touchdowns.
Mirocke spent the 2010 spring season as a student assistant at ESU coaching the team's tight ends and H-backs.
A 2010 graduate of ESU with a degree in integrated studies, Mirocke is pursuing his master's degree in sports leadership at SMSU.
