SMSU Athletics

Jacob Nye is in his first season as an assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State in 2017 and will coach the team’s wide receivers.
 
Nye comes to SMSU after spending two seasons as a student assistant at Saginaw Valley State University (Mich.). He served as tight ends coach/video coordinator/academic coordinator during the 2016 season, while in 2015 he was an assistant defensive line coach. Nye also was an assistant coach for two seasons at Heritage High School.
 
Nye is a 2016 graduate of Saginaw Valley State with a degree in health science.
