Jake Rourke is in his second season on the SMSU coaching staff in 2011 and will coach the team's wide receivers.
In 2010, SMSU wide receiver Bret Ballantine earned honorable mention All-NSIC honors, leading the squad with 41 receptions.
A native of Chatham, Ill., Rourke comes to SMSU after spending the 2009 season as a student assistant coach at Illinois State University where he coached tight ends/H-backs, before coaching quarterbacks during the 2010 spring season.
Rourke is a graduate of Illinois State, where he played four seasons at wide receivers for the Redbirds. He played in 38 career games with nine starts and finished his career with 40 receptions for 598 yards and two touchdowns.
Rourke is pursuing his master's degree from SMSU in sports leadership.
