Jeremy Darveau

Jeremy Darveau is in his sixth season on the SMSU coaching staff in 2013 and will serve as the team's offensive line coach and offensive coordinator.  He was elevated to offensive coordinator in the summer of 2013.

The Mustang rushing attack was one of the best in school history during the 2012 season.  SMSU set a school record with 23 rushing touchdowns, while averaging 171.6 yards per game, ranking second in school history.  Running backs Warren Matthews (first team) and Gannon Moore (second team) both earned All-NSIC honors and finished their careers ranking fourth and eight respectively on the school’s all-time rushing list.  Darveau oversaw an offensive line that ranked sixth in the NSIC in rushing offense, while three offensive linemen earned All-NSIC accolades.

During the 2011 season, SMSU averaged 376.5 total yards per game and in a week six victory over MSU Moorhead, SMSU set a school record with 397 rushing yards.  SMSU’s two leading rushers combined to rush for over 1,000 yards during the season, while the SMSU offense ranked third in the conference in passing yards (241.9) and eighth in scoring (27.4).  Two of Darveau’s offensive linemen earned All-NSIC accolades.

In 2010, the SMSU offense averaged 325.2 yards per game, while junior lineman Brian Rodas earned honorable mention All-NSIC honors.

During Darveau's first two seasons on staff he coached the team's tight ends and spent the 2010 spring season coaching running backs. In 2009, Mustang tight end Shane LaDage recorded 14 receptions and one touchdown, while earning honorable mention All-NSIC South honors.

A native of Hilton Head, S.C., Darveau was a two-year starter at offensive tackle for the University of Louisville during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.  During his senior season he started all 12 games and helped lead Louisville to a 9-3 record and an appearance in the 2006 Gator Bowl.  He started seven games during his junior season in 2004 helping the Cardinals finish 11-1 including winning the Liberty Bowl versus Boise State.

Prior to transferring to Louisville, Darveau played one season at Dodge City (Kan.) C.C. and ranked as the nation’s 108th best junior college prospect in 2003.  He spent two seasons at the University of Kentucky (2001-02) before transferring to Dodge City.

Following his collegiate career he spent time with Tampa Bay of the Arena Football League and Amsterdam of NFL Europe.

Darveau earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and his master’s of business administration degree from SMSU.

Jeremy lives in Marshall.
