SMSU Athletics

Kenny Cushing begins his second season on the SMSU coaching staff and his first as the team's running backs coach.  Cushing spent the 2008 season as the program's wide receivers coach.

Cushing came to SMSU after spending the 2007-08 school year as athletics director and boys’ basketball coach at Nativity Prep School in New Bedford, Mass.

A native of High Point, N.C., Cushing earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 2007.

He is pursuing his master’s degree at SMSU in education with an emphasis in sports leadership.
